About our Parish

St James Eccleston Park is one of five churches making up the Eccleston Group Ministry. The parish is situated on the western edge of the town of St Helens and overlaps into Prescot.

In the church grounds there is a Church Hall, which is used by a wide variety of groups, a Garden of Remembrance, and the church field.

Within the parish boundary there is a school, Eccleston Lane Ends Junior School, Willowbrook Hospice and two pubs.

Most of the children in church attend Eccleston Lane Ends School, a weekly WOW (Worship on Wednesday) service is held in term time after school. The Vicar is chaplain to the hospice. Volunteers from church work in the hospice. (No one has yet admitted to fulfilling their calling in either of the two pubs!).

Population: 3678

For Genealogical Enquiries the local Diocesan Record Office is: Preston
